Jammie Lee, piano - First Prize of $10,000
Christina Thanisch-Smith - Second Prize of $6000
Samuel Nadurak - Third Prize of $4000
These three outstanding Manitoba musicians wowed an appreciative and enthusiastic audience Thursday evening, April 18, at Jubilee Place in Winnipeg. The occasion was the WMC McLellan Finals for Solo Performance with the WSO, conducted by Julian Pellicano and hosted by Classic 107 Radio's Simeon Rusnak. None of us will have envied the jurors their task of disbursing the $20,000 granted biennially by our organization.
Simeon Rusnak spoke with each finalist ahead of the concert. Read our previous blog posts to watch these impressive interviews.
WMC highly values the collaboration with the WSO in presenting this unique and exceptional event. The photos below were captured by photographer Mark Rash.
