The Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg is seeking to hire its first Communications & Marketing Coordinator! WMC is a vibrant Manitoba-proud non-profit arts organization that creates opportunities for emerging classical musicians through programs and scholarships, as well as running a concert season of great performances by international and local artists.

We are seeking someone with a creative bent, an eye for detail and a love for music, working to increase WMC’s online presence and promoting our programs across the province.

Communications & Marketing Coordinator        

JOB DESCRIPTION


Term: October, 2024 – August 31, 2025 (Renewal dependent on funding)

Hours: Part-time - exact hours TBD

Salary: Monthly honorarium $1000


Reporting to the Board, the Communications & Marketing Coordinator carries out the Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg communications and marketing activities and works closely with WMC volunteers to improve WMC’s visibility, increase WMC’s online presence, and achieve communications and marketing goals. This part-time term position is based from your home office.  

This position is largely project-based, meaning that work hours may fluctuate over the course of the months, depending on the volume of WMC programs and events.


Responsibilities include:

  • Develop marketing materials and distribute digital and print materials according to WMC’s branding guidelines and program calendar.

  • Prepare and distribute WMC’s monthly e-newsletter.

  • Monitor and maintain WMC’s website to ensure content remains relevant and current, including but not limited to:

    • Program and event pages

    • Awards and competition pages

    • Blog posts

  • Place ads on sites and events calendars with Classic 107, CBC, CTV, Tourism Winnipeg, Travel Manitoba, Pattison Signs, Global Wpg, UMFM, etc.

  • Create content and maintain WMC’s social media accounts.

  • Assist in preparing correspondence and other materials for members, donors, and other stakeholders.

  • Assist in interpreting analytics related to WMC’s online presence.

  • Assist in promoting programs, events, and resources to various stakeholders.

  • Liaise with WMC committees to complete tasks as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.


The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education and/or training in a related field, or a minimum of three years of related work experience

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Good critical and creative thinking skills

  • Detail-oriented

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

  • Experience working with various technological platforms and computer software (including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Canva or Poster-My-Wall, Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, and Wix)

  • Solid understanding of WMC and Winnipeg's musical arts community

  • Experience working with non-profit arts organizations is considered an asset.

  • French language skills are considered an asset.
